My 3 day Holiday weekend ramble

Home sweet home, finally! Pixiechick had a nice 3 day stay on the beautiful campus of SVCH in downtown Cleave-land. Never thought I'd be so glad to be home. My lovely journey started Thursday afternoon in the ER. Severe stomach pain. HMMMMmmmm... I tried to blame my friend's lasagna from the night before but she wasn't having it! Ok, she didn't force it down my throat either (thanks Tot!) . My intestine decided it wanted to be acrobatic and decided to twist around and crimp! WEEE-HAAAA lucky me! Thanks to my goood goood friend and fellow WLS compadre, I ended up in good hands. Thank you, Ms. See for getting me there so quickly! Better than 911! By 5:00 pm I was in the happy land of morphine-drip feeling little pain. The venerable Dr. S took great care of me and even ordered an NG tube to help cure my illness! Lucky me again! having a hose shoved straight down my nose into my throat! I am relatively tolerable of pain but HOLY MOTHER OF GOD (and I'm not even Catholic) I cried and screamed like a lunatic. Gosh, even the morphine wasn't making that pain go away. Morphine & Demerol hold a close second to Ladie's Night at "The Wick", which incidentally, I missed because of my little problem... Ok, big problem. You know it's bad if Pixiechick misses ladie's night. Did I mention that same tube that went down my throat, had to come out of course ... that was my wake up call Friday morning. SWEET JESUS, what did I do to deserve this??? I swear I will never eat another mini cadbury egg in the purple bag again! Actually, the worst was over after the tube came out. For all the pain it caused, the tummy pain subsided ... apparently it worked. For the next two days i was on a "test run" of tolerable edibles. Broth and jello and eventually soft hospital grub. Never thought I would be afraid to EAT! In any case, I came home this afternoon, scoured Kmart and Walgreens for remnants of Easter basket fixins' and had 2 baskets done in time for my little honey bunnies to return home. (note to self, NEVER procrastinate the holiday gift stuff again) BUT really, who knew my tummy would turn on me and put me in the hospital? It is amazing how much love I felt from friends and family during my little hiatus from my life.... thanks guys and gals! All is right with the world again this Easter evening. BTW, I have now read 30 chapters of the DaVinci Code. I WILL finish the damn book b/4 the movie comes out. OKAY, loooong ramble over for now. Y'all go eat some stale peeps!

Between your adventure and my recent surgical procedure, about which I had no intention of blogging, it's been an interesting week for each of us as far as our gastrointestinal tracts are concerned.

Hope you went home with a scrip for something good!

what does "gno can wait" mean?

and i am not sure that was a wake up call. i mean, you didn't do anything wrong that caused it to happen. it was just bad luck. but good luck you avoided surgery.

who knows, since i am not a believer in any "voice from above"...unless it's a tall person shouting at me.
