I'm back

Haven't updated my blog in some time. Let's just say things are a little left of center right now in Pixie's world. Not horrible, but less than pleasant. Anyhooo, I want to share a great little DaVinci Code spoof from Youtube which was actually newspaper worthy. Check it out here. OH, and by the way, I need a summer job, or any job for that matter. NEVER thought it would be this difficult for a college edumacated gal like me to find work ... any leads would be appreciated! (yes! I am desperate)

Super-size family

My great and talented cousin-in-law, Clint, just finished a site for Discovery Channel. Check it out here! It's a game in which you have a limited amount of time to perform many household and childcare duties for a rather large family! I was dizzy after the first round, which by the way, I failed miserably!! I have 2 kids and can't keep it together!! He is soooo talented. It's to promote baby week on the network. He also has 2 children who make "star" appearances in the game! Great job, cuz!!

hot hOT HOT

Otay, I'm posting! And, sweating my arse off as well. Every first 90 degree day I curse myself for not trying harder to get the new furnace WITH central air!!! UGH! I love summer and sunshine so I will NOT complain it's just that we had no in between time. No time to gradually adapt to this weather. It was chilly and practically snowing at my son's game last Tuesday (ok I'm exaggerating but I COULD see my breath!) and now it's hot and humid and over 90. I know, bitch bitch bitch. I'm so good at it I'm told. Anyhow, the new Chicks CD is grand! Little more mellow and serious but still great. Gotta love 'em. Happy Birthday to my first born today ... He is 12! And I feel old! Crabby and old! Somewhere in the past few months I lost all that great self-esteem I gained. Hmmmm... hows does that happen and how do I get it back?

Marilyn

Just a quick Mother's Day post. Walking through Wal-ly-world today watching all the last minute shoppers hunting for cards and gifts, I felt numb. This being the 3rd mother's day without my mom, I still feel cheated. Cheated that I didn't have more time with her and angry that she didnt try harder to stick around. I don't blame her. I just wish that she wouldn't have felt so defeated by her life. I know she didn't feel that she had much of a life to speak of and I couldn't disagree more. As much as my sister and I tried to tell her so desperately in the months and days before she died, I can only hope she listened and realized what a truly wonderful, beautiful woman, mother, teacher, friend that she was to us. We didn't do the typical bubbly mother daughter stuff like shopping and doing nails together much but she instilled so much good in us and taught us love, honesty, trust, and how to care. She also taught us about family and tradition. Mommy was the best at making things like holidays and birthdays special. For as much or as little she had at times, she always found a way. I have carried that on with my children. She was a terrific grammy to them when she was here and her wisdom and love is still in their hearts. I will always have the most beautiful memories of my mom in my mind and heart and her love is truly always with me.

Dance, Dance

HAVE got to thank my cousin Andy for sharing her find from youtube, Evolution of Dance! This is too funny and the guy is good! For as much as I love to dance, this was sweet. Although, he omitted the ELECTRIC SLIDE, the one and only line dance I know thanks to Andy! Ah, those hard working days at Dorvison with my mom, learning how to line dance in the office! Anyway, take a look. It's a long video stream but worth it. Besides, You will probably know all the songs like I did. Memories, some good some not! Bye, Bye baby, bye bye.

Whatever!

Well, my back is getting better very very slowly. I do too much in a day though and I am down again. I was turned down for a job at CSU today but I had an interview for another position there this morning. I thought the interview went well but who knows? Not holding my breath. If it happens, it was meant to be. IF not, oh well, whatever! God, that word is so annoying! So annoying that I love to use it! Not much else going on in Pixieworld other than I should have went out tonight but stayed home instead. For the better I suppose. It's middle school for me tomorrow. wee-haaaa. Nighty night for now.

Pixie is falling apart

Hi ho, it's about time I update my blog. A lot has happened in a week. I twisted my back and stayed in bed for a day munching on motrin, went back to work today, and oh yeah, Barnaby died. I hate to admit this as a proud Clevelander, but I hated Barnaby and refused to tell anyone that he said hello! No offense to Linn Sheldon, just hated the show and I hated his hat. I was a romper-stomper bomper boo kid who loved do-bee. Also loved Captain Kangaroo ... I knew when Barnaby came on, that was the end of the good shows for the day and it pissed me off and made me sad! We didn't get UHF channel 43 on our crappy tv so I didnt get the good cartoons.

My week off and little hospital stay did allow me to finish The DaVinci Code though. WOW!!!! More later!

My 3 day Holiday weekend ramble

Home sweet home, finally! Pixiechick had a nice 3 day stay on the beautiful campus of SVCH in downtown Cleave-land. Never thought I'd be so glad to be home. My lovely journey started Thursday afternoon in the ER. Severe stomach pain. HMMMMmmmm... I tried to blame my friend's lasagna from the night before but she wasn't having it! Ok, she didn't force it down my throat either (thanks Tot!) . My intestine decided it wanted to be acrobatic and decided to twist around and crimp! WEEE-HAAAA lucky me! Thanks to my goood goood friend and fellow WLS compadre, I ended up in good hands. Thank you, Ms. See for getting me there so quickly! Better than 911! By 5:00 pm I was in the happy land of morphine-drip feeling little pain. The venerable Dr. S took great care of me and even ordered an NG tube to help cure my illness! Lucky me again! having a hose shoved straight down my nose into my throat! I am relatively tolerable of pain but HOLY MOTHER OF GOD (and I'm not even Catholic) I cried and screamed like a lunatic. Gosh, even the morphine wasn't making that pain go away. Morphine & Demerol hold a close second to Ladie's Night at "The Wick", which incidentally, I missed because of my little problem... Ok, big problem. You know it's bad if Pixiechick misses ladie's night. Did I mention that same tube that went down my throat, had to come out of course ... that was my wake up call Friday morning. SWEET JESUS, what did I do to deserve this??? I swear I will never eat another mini cadbury egg in the purple bag again! Actually, the worst was over after the tube came out. For all the pain it caused, the tummy pain subsided ... apparently it worked. For the next two days i was on a "test run" of tolerable edibles. Broth and jello and eventually soft hospital grub. Never thought I would be afraid to EAT! In any case, I came home this afternoon, scoured Kmart and Walgreens for remnants of Easter basket fixins' and had 2 baskets done in time for my little honey bunnies to return home. (note to self, NEVER procrastinate the holiday gift stuff again) BUT really, who knew my tummy would turn on me and put me in the hospital? It is amazing how much love I felt from friends and family during my little hiatus from my life.... thanks guys and gals! All is right with the world again this Easter evening. BTW, I have now read 30 chapters of the DaVinci Code. I WILL finish the damn book b/4 the movie comes out. OKAY, loooong ramble over for now. Y'all go eat some stale peeps!

Bling bling bowling

I had a great time last night bowling with old and new friends. Hey KBueno, THANKS for the little bling bling! Cartouche, you da man! Love your bowling style. Glitter got lots of pictures. Thanks GG for not being a hermit. WE need to do this going out stuff more often. It was great to see YIT again too and meet all of the other great people. Dammit, at least I bowled 100!! WEE-HAAAAA! Okay westside gang, next time y'all are crossing the river and coming to the EASSSSTSIIIDE! It's Soprano time ... Pixie, out!

Chicks, cheeks, and chins

In true chubby-girl fashion Wynonna tries to hide the multiple chins well! She pulls out all the tricks in her photos: Hands cupped around her face, pic cropped at first chin level, (see previous post---GUILTY!) and especially the all black clothing so of course the "extras" can be brushed out.

Hair today, goon tomorrow

HAIR NEWS! I did not go yellow fake blonde. I thought the foiled medusa look was much more flattering! Thank you Glittergirl for adding sunshine to my dirty blonde hair (dirty blonde ... hmmmm, ya think??) The humiliation women and lots of men, at least the metrosexuals I know, go through to be pretty. Even more humiliating that I am posting this on my blog. G-D Damn, this is so horribly therapeutic.

Golden Mushroom

As I once again contemplated "what to do with my hair," My dear sweet Glitter-friend, in all her honesty, recently referred to my old hair color/style as looking like a golden mushroom. (Hmmm, let me rethink that "great friends" post of a few days ago. ) Just kidding, glitterbiatch! She ultimately likes my hair much more than I do. Is fake blonde really so bad? Lots of people do it. Afterall, natural is overrated these days. "Stop trying to grow it long and blonde!" I was bossed. Certain males, husband included, seem to like that. I call it the porn-star factor. More to grab on to etc ... If there is anyone out there who actually reads my ramblings, what do you think? Not on a personal Pixiechick note but in general, what is the best hair? Natural, blonde, ronald-mcdonald red? Tell me your preference. (artwork by E-dog!-he rocks!)

Hugs and KISSes to my family

FOR THE RECORD: My previous post was not a slight to any of the wonderful members of my family, some of whom are my best friends as well (ANDY, KOOKA). Someone said this to me once, someone with a few less than desirable family members. I was just quoting something I had heard, I guess it did sound bad when I posted it! Sorry!

Pretty in Pink

I had such a girly day today! Pink and satin and glitter. Thanks to Glittergirl for hosting a MaryKay party. If you know us, Makeup is not top on our lists, if even on a list at all. However, I have to give props to our hostess, Jeannette, she rocks. Made me feel pretty and special :o) She is shooting for a ride in the big pink caddy! Wee-haa. It was my first Sunday dinner at Glitter's house. Something to be said about good friends. Can't choose your family, but you can choose your friends. Thank god, I've chosen some great ones.
